There are Five Business Essentials required to be successful in your business. The first is a PERSONALIZED WEBSITE & CAPTURE PAGE. It’s the hub of your business and lead development. That’s followed by a LIST-BUILDING AUTORESPONDER. Effective use of email marketing with your autoresponder can be a powerful income stream. Next is a streamlined SALES FUNNEL. Automating your sales process will free you from the tedious tasks of presenting, closing and order taking. That’s followed by an automated system to PRESENT YOUR PRIMARY COMPANY. This is your recruiting machine that can sponsor people on autopilot. Finally you need an AUTOMATED TRAINING PLATFORM. This is the most essential time management tool you can have. These Five Business Essentials are dependent on one another for your success. Put them in place and watch your business explode!
Your Website And Capture Page is the Hub Of Your Online Marketing Efforts
N ot only is a personalized website and/or capture page essential to your online marketing success, it is the hub of your system. All of your marketing efforts should lead to your capture page. All of your relationship development flows from the leads that you generate from your capture page. Your success marketing on the internet depends on how effectively you brand the one and only unique sales proposition you have: YOU.
With A Corporate Site, You’re Just Another Rep
Corporate replicated websites are efficient and easy to set up, that’s for sure. But as far as branding YOU they are a big loser. It’s certainly a very effective method to brand the company and to spread their message, often at your expense. It doesn’t set you apart as being unique and different. A prospective distributor can look at your site today and someone else’s tomorrow. Even though it may have been YOUR marketing efforts that drove them initially to your company site, they may end signing up with another because they just can’t tell the difference.
THere’s usually no videos and very few pictures. There’s lots of measured information about the company and the opportunity, but there’s little information about you and certainly NOTHING of your personality or spark or sense of humor that would immediately draw people to you.
Another Problem With Corporate Sites
Most of the corporate sites that I’ve seen are VERY boring and lack any kind of punch and sizzle that might get the attention of the reader. Why? It’s because the corporate site has been through the scrutiny of dozens of corporate lawyers who strike and cross out the most effective copy for fear of getting sued. While I’m certainly completely against any kind of untruthful or misleading advertising, I’m also aware that there’s lots of good, effective copy that get’s axed by paranoid corporate attorneys.
Additionally, the CTA (Call To Action) on the corporate site is something like, “For More Information…” I have one word for that: B-O-R-I-N-G. You’ll be lucky if you get one or two opt-ins out of a thousand visitors. Good personalized websites and capture pages should pull in A MINIMUM OF A 10% conversion rate. I’ve seen some pages that convert at over 30% because of a compelling video presentation or unique story of the presenter.
People Join People, Not Companies!
If you can’t present you as the unique entity that you are, there’s little use in taking the time to even assemble a capture page. There’s something unique about watching a personal video. One of my business partners has just the most relaxed and Hanging-Around-The-Living-Room feeling about his welcome video on his capture page. Often, when he calls his leads, they treat him like an old friend and ask about the kids…. It’s rarely, “This is WHO?”
That kind of familiarity and relationship building is impossible with a corporate replicated website.
Here are some basic components that your lead capture page must have. Remember though that the overriding key element that needs to be woven through all of these is YOU — Your Personality, Your Style, Your Flair, Your Passion, Your Unique Fingerprint.
- A Compelling Headline
- A Valuable Offer
- A Call To Action
Let’s look at each of these in detail.
- A Compelling Headline
Copywriters will tell you that if you don’t grab the reader in the first 5 words, you’ll lose them. Be sure you study effective ad copy and take the time to look at lots of sites. Generally promises of making lots of money in a short period of time will be dismissed. There’s just too many of those vapid headlines floating around today. Better is something that will more directly benefit the reader and reach him where he’s at now. Offers of free training or information are much more effective.Describe a HOW TO offer in detail and outline the benefits of putting the strategy into play. Describe a simple process to accomplish something like generating leads or learning some aspect of marketing such as writing articles or making videos. Then be sure to deliver exactly what you promised and not some additional sales offer to finally get what was promised.
Also, you must first be very clear about who is your target market. Headlines need to speak specifically to the target market your are seeking. Take a minute to put yourself in the shoes of the person you want to attract and ask yourself, “What would I want to see if I just landed on this page?”
- A Valuable Offer A valuable offer is the payoff for the prospects who visit to your site. This needs to be an gift of an irresistable strategy or piece of information that the reader deems it absolutely necessary to his or her success. Visitors must be given a good reason to give up their name, email address and phone number. Once again, think about your target market and what they will be looking to find. Some capture pages are very niche specific offering information specifically related to a particular company. “Here’s The Strategy To Build Your Amway Business.” More generic would be, “Get This Free eBook Revealing How Top Producers Generate Dozens Of Leads Everyday On Autopilot.”Mike Dillard teaches that only after you give away and give away and give away some more do you begin to build trust and a basis for continued marketing efforts and recommendations for solutions. You simply have to come up with training, webinar, recording, eBook or some valuable item that you are willing to just give away. The bigger the perceived give away, the greater will be your conversion rate from visitors to opt-ins.
- A Call To Action Finally, there must be some kind of Call To Action. So many times the site will be great structuring a Valuable Offer, but then fails to bring it home with a clear and well-defined Call To Action. Something like “Fill In The Form For More Information” is lame compared to, “Get These Powerful Secrets Delivered To Your Inbox IMMEDIATELY Simply By Completing The Form With Your Name, Email, and Phone Number.” You can even configure the SUBMIT button to read something like, “Send Me The Secrets Now >>>”People will usually tend to do what you ask them to do, AS LONG AS YOU REMEMBER TO ASK THEM!
You can take advantage of the incredible leverage of the internet by effectively emlopying a capture page into your marketing hub.
