Personal Perspective — Your Window to Success

There are Five Personal Essentials required to be a successful in your business.  The first is intense DESIRE which is based on your ‘why’.  That is followed by an unwavering COMMITMENT to your business and to your success.  Next is Systematic INVESTMENT both in yourself and your business.  That is followed by purposeful PERSPECTIVE that takes you toward your goal   And finally unrelenting PERSEVERANCE will keep the dream alive until you begin to enjoy the fruits of your labors.   These Five Personal Essentials are each dependent one upon the other.  Pay attention to each of them on a daily basis and your success is a tangible reality.

Personal Perspective

Personal perspective in your quest is essential to your success.  What do I mean by perspective.

Perspective, as defined by Webster is “position: a way of regarding situations or topics etc.; ‘consider what follows from the positivist view’”

Perspective in building your online or network marketing business is critical and will keep you from frustration, discouragement and despair.  I know, sounds  a little overly dramatic, doesn’t it?  Let me assure it’s not.

I’ve seen some of the strongest people drift and stagnate from a position of unwavering commitment to a mere shell of an entrepreneur after just a few short months.  Sometimes even weeks.

So what does perspective have to do with this?  Everything!

Perspective In Your Learning Curve

If this is your first venture into the world of business, to put it simply, you have a lot to learn.  I’ve been a full-time entrepreneur for over 30 years.  I’d estimate I was on a very steep learning curve my first 5 years.  And a lesser one for the next 10.  There are so many things to learn and understand and apply.  Don’t expect yourself to get it overnight.

Just because you’ve read a couple of business books or taken a few business classes, you’re not nearly experienced enough to conquer The Marketplace. People with more experience and money that you and I combined have launched and failed.  So remember to give yourself a break.

Give yourself room to make mistakes, to miss the mark, and to fall flat on your face.  Give yourself room to learn and to grow and to find your ‘business groove.’  (I’m still working on mine – it’s constantly evolving)

So give yourself a break.  Keep on getting the training, the eBooks, listening to the webinars and reading the blogs.  Remember you’re after progress, not perfection!

Perspective In Your Cash Flow

Yes,  you won’t make a lot of money your first few months or maybe even your first few years.  Oh I know you’ll read stories of people who get fired from their job at the factory, go online, find some ‘gold mine’ and end up surpassing their factory pay in 37 days.  While I suppose this may happen from time to time, let me tell you straight up — Most of the time it doesn’t.

Even some of those so called rapid success stories come only after years of doing everything the wrong way.  You may have heard of David Wood who started with a company and in just a few months was at the top of their pay plan reaping gobs and gobs of money in the process.  Most people tell the story that way, but when you hear it from David himself, he’ll be the first one to tell you that his journey took him through years of trying and failing and having a little success then failing again.  All that took place before his legendary rise in just a few months.  Remember that he kept the faith for years before getting it all together.

Go easy on your expenses.  Don’t launch out too far ahead of yourself going into debt.  While you do need to spend some money to make money. (you simply can’t run a business without any overhead or expenses), be sure to be reasonable and build slowly.  Give yourself time to grow into the income you expect.

Perspective In Your Personal Growth

This is by far the most important to apply to your journey.

Everything you do, experience, suffer, endure, enjoy or traverse is material for your personal growth.  Being in business for yourself will provide a plethora of material — I Guarantee It !

Rather than let these experiences frustrate and exasperate you, let them be for your good and your growth.  Rather than being angry, be thankful.  Instead of being a quitter, be a conqueror!

It’s the richness of your life’s experiences that contribute to your stature.  It’s the School of Hard Knocks that rewards you with a degree in Advanced Success.  All you have to do is to NOT QUIT!

I love the old saying that goes something like… “Pain builds character and lots of pain will make you a real character!”  It’s both funny and true.

Never let the process of getting better get you down.  As Jim Rohn says, “Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better.  Don’t wish for less problems, wish for more skills.”

Getting up everyday with the right perspective in all of these areas will make your journey a wonderful adventure instead of a endless death march.  Keep your head in the right place and your success is in the making — TODAY!
